Founder Ken Maloney spent over a decade in the semiconductor industry, leading complex, high-stakes manufacturing processes where precision was non-negotiable and failure was not an option. That same level of rigor and attention to detail would later shape how he approached business systems and pay processing for industries with complex compensation models. 

While building software solutions for small manufacturing businesses, Ken noticed a recurring gap: traditional systems like time and attendance, ERP, and payroll platforms were not built to handle the nuanced logic of dynamic pay and bill rates. What filled that void were clunky workarounds—band-aid fixes that introduced risk, inconsistency, and cost.
